A Yemen Primer

I want to share a number of links to help people get up to speed with the extent of our participation in the war in Yemen. Most of our media breezes over the details or buries the lead under the 24-hour news cycle, but you can put it together if you read enough and cross reference. This is just scratching the surface.

The beautiful classical piece I used to soften the impact is Tchaikovsky’s Waltz of the Flowers.

The Origins of Al Qaeda in Yemen (AQY) and Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP)

Arming radical Sunni organizations is an American strategy that hearkens back to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan during the Cold War. AQAP in Yemen is a direct successor to Al Qaeda in Afghanistan.

So what’s going on in Yemen? Why are millions of people facing starvation and epidemics?

Single-Payer Medicare For All – A Look at Universal Health Insurance

As 2018 continues to usher in yet a boatload of shocks and surprises, I would like to share my opinion openly with all of you. A great con man sits in the White House, but not all is as it appears. I am someone who believes, without a doubt, that the cure for America’s ills comes from the left wing (when I say that, I mean the real left wing, not the neoliberal Democrats). This being the case, I feel the need to share why I think Donald Trump is not the President we deserve, but rather the President we need right now.
